Workplace safety and risk assessment
Safety and risk assessment in the workplace are of crucial importance, including of course in our sector of the production and marketing of prefabricated electrical substations for the secondary distribution of energy.
Risk assessment, in fact, should not be seen merely as a regulatory requirement, but as a key element in the company’s safety management strategy, and that is how we at CEP see it.
In this context, risk assessment at CEP srl takes on an even more significant role, given the nature of the products involved: prefabricated electrical substations, medium-voltage switchgear and low-voltage switchgear.
The main phases of risk assessment that we implement at CEP include:
- Risk identification: all potential hazards present in the workplace and their severity are analyzed in detail;
- Risk evaluation: all the potential hazards identified are established, determining their level of risk;
- Implementation of prevention measures: actions are taken with the aim of preventing and reducing a potential risk as much as possible;
- Management and monitoring: the effectiveness of the control measures adopted is verified by assessing residual risks, i.e. the share of risk that remains despite the application of all measures.
CEP srl’s commitment to safety and health at work takes the form of the drafting and constant updating of the Risk Assessment Document (DVR), which specifically considers the business processes related to the production and marketing of electrical substations.
Through the DVR, CEP srl is committed to effectively planning improvement initiatives, defining procedures for the implementation of preventive and protective measures and ensuring the use of adequate personal protective equipment.
The identification of the following plays an important role:
- business processes and actual prevention activities;
- tasks that expose workers to specific risks (noise, vibration, manual handling of loads, awkward postures, etc.);
- procedures for implementing the measures to be carried out;
- measures deemed appropriate to ensure the improvement of safety levels over time;
- prevention and protection measures implemented;
- personal protective equipment adopted.
For CEP srl, success in the area of safety is not limited to compliance with regulations but includes:
– the training, information and awareness-raising of all workers, as well as empowering them, promoting cooperation among the various company resources;
– the achievement, each according to their own duties and skills, of the assigned safety objectives;
– compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, formulating company procedures and standards that reflect the highest standards of health and safety at work;
– managing activities with the aim of preventing accidents, injuries and occupational diseases, ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for everyone.
We promote a company culture that sees safety as a strategic objective essential for the well-being of employees and the overall success of the company.
