The Role of the C.O.E. in Corporate Collaboration and Growth

The C.O.E. fosters effective collaboration among the experts who make it up, belonging to four strategically important and interconnected macro areas of expertise:

  • Workplace Safety and Health
  • Quality
  • Lean Management
  • R&D

The main objective of the C.O.E. is to provide management and operational tools useful for addressing market growth, improving production standards and developing new skills and value-added services, thereby ensuring customer satisfaction.

It acts on strategic levers such as planning, organization, motivation and control, supporting company management in eliminating organizational silos and promoting alignment with corporate objectives rather than with the metrics of individual departments.

In addition, the C.O.E. connects corporate strategy to daily operations, offering support to production departments and the various company functions.

CEP: Italian Excellence in Prefabricated Electrical Substations

1980
Founded in the late 1980s by surveyor Luciano Melodia, CEP (Componenti Elettrici e Prefabbricati) stands out today as an essential point of reference in the prefabricated electrical substation sector.

Born as a family business, the company has built its success on innovation, quality and technological development, anticipating the needs of a constantly evolving market.
1990
CEP starts series production of prefabricated electrical substations, obtaining in 1992 its first Enel qualification for C.A.V. (vibrated reinforced concrete) substations, a certification that opens the doors to distribution on a national scale.
1998
A further milestone is reached with the achievement of the UNI EN ISO 9001:1994 certification, evidence of a quality management system aligned with the highest international standards.

With its entry into the electromechanical sector, the company diversifies its offering with disconnectors and medium voltage switchgear, strengthening its leadership.
2000
CEP becomes the first Italian company to obtain the CEI EN 61330 certification for substations complete with equipment, consolidating its role in the market.

Innovation continues with the development of patented solutions, including the double-break system for IMS isolation. The company expands into the renewable energy sector, supplying substations for the fast-growing wind power industry.
2005
With the UNI ISO 14001:1994 certification, CEP demonstrates its commitment to environmental sustainability, a philosophy that will continue to characterize its growth.
2008
The company enters the photovoltaic market, supplying "turnkey" solutions in collaboration with strategic partners such as ABB and IVPC.

Thanks to a joint venture with a German company, production capacity reaches 1,200 substations per year as early as 2011.
2012
CEP's growth path is consolidated with a new first: it is the first Italian company qualified by Enel for the production of substations compliant with the DG2061 specification.

In the same year, the company introduces the "CabElArc" project, aimed at reducing the effects of electrosmog, marking a further step forward in technological innovation.

International success is strengthened with the development of the first containerized substation intended for export to global photovoltaic markets.
2016

CEP invests in the construction and expansion of new production facilities, increasing operating capacity to 30 complete containers per week. At the same time, a strategic reorganization strengthens its position in the national market, fostering new business opportunities.
2019

The company achieves significant milestones in the renewable energy, electrical distribution and sustainable mobility sectors. It accelerates the development of low voltage switchboards to meet growing global demand.

Its ability to adapt and innovate allows it to remain competitive in a rapidly transforming sector, expanding its presence in the photovoltaic and hydrogen segments.
Today

CEP is synonymous with excellence in the prefabricated electrical substation market, with an efficient organization and a quality management system certified to UNI EN ISO 9001:2015.

The achievement of an ESG rating of 62.88% (AA-) confirms its commitment to sustainability and to meeting the global development goals.

Thanks to a relentless pursuit of efficiency and the ability to anticipate market needs, the company continues to be a point of reference for the design and production of cutting-edge solutions for electrical energy distribution, consolidating its role as a leader at national and international level.
